What Makes Us Stand Out
In 2016, Javeria arrived at art school and felt an immediate disconnect between herself, her peers, and the world outside the studio. She wanted more than theory. She wanted to work with her hands alongside the artisans and craftsmen who had spent lifetimes perfecting their trade. That search led her to found Khatepoesh.
The deeper she went into traditional craftsmanship, the clearer a gap became. There was nothing in the market for women who wanted to dress practically and stay connected to that heritage. What existed leaned on impure materials and compromised on both comfort and authenticity. So Javeria made a simple but firm call. Khatepoesh would work only with sustainable, ethically sourced cotton, and would let artisanal craft lead the design.
The response was immediate. Women across Pakistan sought out Khatepoesh, not only in the big cities but in places no one expected. Working women, in particular, connected with the aesthetic. Something ethnic in spirit, but built for real, everyday movement.
What emerged was a new kind of customer. The Khatepoesh woman. She crosses cultural and gender boundaries. She is eco-conscious and body positive, strong and confident in her own skin. She does not choose between practicality and artistry. She demands both. Wearable cuts, honest materials, and prints refined by the hands of real craftsmen.
Drawing on her study of traditional arts, Javeria designs for exactly this woman. Building a wardrobe where every motif carries the fingerprint of the artisan who shaped it, and every cut respects the body wearing it.
